Starting with an outdoor advertisement at Morioka Station in Iwate Prefecture, Shohei Ohtani’s hometown, on Friday, May 31, the ad will be shown in 82 locations (※1) in 12 prefectures in Japan and 6 locations worldwide, including New York, Los Angeles, South Korea, and Taiwan. Together with Shohei Ohtani, who has been appointed “Oi Ocha Global Ambassador,” we will continue to promote the appeal of green tea both domestically and internationally following its appearance in 60 newspapers around the world.

The giant outdoor advertisements will be designed to attract a large number of viewers and convey to the world ITO EN and Ohtani’s shared desire to “spread Japan’s fascinating green tea culture to the world.”
In Japan, the ad will be displayed starting from Iwate Prefecture, Ohtani’s hometown, from Friday, May 31, followed by placement in 82 locations in 12 prefectures, including Sapporo, Morioka, Sendai, Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, in addition to spots around JR Shibuya Station. Overseas the campaign will be displayed in six locations worldwide, including the U.S. (New York and Los Angeles), South Korea, and Taiwan. The ads will also be displayed in Times Square from June 8 to 10 (local time), when Ohtani will visit New York for the Yankees-Dodgers series of matches.
In addition, Oi Ocha bottles with the new haiku, “Everyday, there is a tea that stands by my side,” written in commemoration of Shohei Ohtani’s appointment as Global Ambassador, which attracted much attention when the global partnership was announced, will appear on pillar media at Shibuya Station from June 10.
This is the first and the most extensive outdoor advertising campaign that our company has ever undertaken at once in various countries around the world.
